BABYLONIAN ARTIFACT

Babylonian Captivity
The Babylonians held me captive trying to crush my soul,
Pursuing me with things external dividing me from the whole,
Relationships equaled emptiness while the sands of time fell,
Processed hair, nails, eyes, created my own emotional hell,
Scripture says seek and you will find I searched internally,
I saw peace within my self, spiritual health and you looking back at me,
Wary at first, remnants of Babylonian pain caused me to look away,
But I soon found my mind revolving around every word you had to say,
Fused spiritually to each other we buffered the stress from Babylon,
Displaying emotional love making, plus an intense intellectual bond,
Welded together internally we emitted light into the Babylonian night,
Hoping our divine love frees other captives from their plight

"Silence"
12-3-2000
Written By Khalilah-Yasmin

Loud as a war or a storm full of thunder,
my life is a maze, I walk asunder.
the lightning speaks with one expression,
to light my way of a future blessing.
drums overwhelm the beat of my heart,
I can't hear my moments part.
monotonous,driving,repetition of insanity,
My aspirations are my only vanity.
sinful sounds and harmful bass,
I feel vibration upon my face.
I exploded, and fell to my knees,
the clouds above my rock, put me to ease.
peace filled the skies as silence came.
slowly blessed me and spoke my name.
he showered me with comfort from this war,
he heard my cry"I can't take it no more"
my eyes dried and my heartbeat heard,
he is a messenger,his name a proverb.
innocence,peace and spiritual things,
My only whisper was what his heart sings.
-silence fell from the clouds and came up through the wind,
I saw the storm fading and the waters washed in.
quiet peace,solemn innocence
the man brought me silence.

Just to get by

Though your eyes may be cold, I can see the heart in your
soul.
Through eyes raven you pain, and thus the world should
suffer?
We in your pain only gains to make this hard road tougher.
Into a corner to shead tears of pain from the worst years
only enhances those years' fears so your face remains dry.
But the occasional look in your eye as your passing bye
Is free of pain, clear from the rain thus those eyes must
cry
Just to get by.

   Don't be like those people.

Some people kill,
Others steal.
Don't be like that
Be a cool cat,
It's up to you now,
Don't be a cow,
Don't be like these people
Be like yourself!
